🥤Tap Water: You cannot drink tap water, it’s desalinated. Bottled water is readily available.
🛞 Rentals: The best rental option would be a scooter. Avoid ATVs and Quadbikes as there have been many fatal accidents with tourists.
🌞 Season: Santorini gets most visits during the summer. The best period to visit will be April-May and September-October if you’re looking to avoid the heavy crowds. Do not visit in winter, most attractions will be closed.
🚕 Taxis: Avoid taxis as tourists tend to be overcharged by the drivers. Buses are a great alternative. Click here to see the time-table (it’s in Greek so use Google translate). Altenatively, copy-paste “ΚΤΕΛ ΣΑΝΤΟΡΙΝΗΣ” on Google and click the first link. NOTE: Cards may not be accepted in the bus.

Perissa Beach is easily accessible by car or bus from Fira, which is about a 30-minute drive away. You can also take a boat excursion from the old port in Fira to Perissa.

Vlychada Beach: Less popular but probably the most beautiful beach on the island. It is much less crowded and offers a beautiful landscape with black sand. The end of the beach is nudist.
